Recently, I was very happy to find a Thai song with music that can easily stuck in my head. Well, one of them is the song 'Erase' by Ink Waruntorn. I found this song in August when actually this song was released in July. Since last August, I've really wanted to review this MV, but back then I'm just too lazy to open up my laptop and type down my opinion. Finally, I'm back with an mv review! In this post, I'll break down the storyline in this MV, so let's find it out by just clicking read more!
MUSIC VIDEO
This song was released on July 9, 2020, about 3 months ago. At first, I was surfing on my YouTube, listening to Thai songs because who knows right? there might be some songs that got me hooked. Finally, I found this song and I was like "Oh? This one is great! I'll put it on my Spotify playlist ASAP," But unfortunately, there is no English translation on the official MV. So at first, I liked this song purely because of the music that easily stuck in my brain. I have to stop by Deungdutjai's blog first, to find out the meaning of the song.
Ink Waruntorn - Erase [Lyric + English Translation] "Click Here"
Before I tell you about the storyline, I want to talk about P'Ink first. So, Waruntorn Paonil aka Ink, is a singer from Boxx Music. I only know that she's a singer, a friend of Tay Tawan and I never listened to her song before. Well, I just found out that when the song was just released, it was already promoted by Tay Tawan. He listens to this song in the car with Gun. By the way, Ink and Tay are both drum majors at Chulalongkorn University. If you follow Tay Tawan, you won't be surprised anymore because he still hangs out with his drum major friends. You can see in the photo above P'Ink is in the middle and on the right side (not the one next to the mc) there's Tay Tawan😂
And also it turns out that Tay has talked about this song in one of his tweets before. I really annoyed with his tweet lmao. So he said that, 'Why you bother to delete it if the photo is still in the recycle bin?' For a second, I agree with him. I was like 'Well, you got a point..." But after that, I checked the MV again and realized that the girl in the MV deleted the folder on the hard disk so that means once it's deleted, it can't be reversed again😂
When I finished watching the MV I was like 'Huh? Wait a minute, huh?????' something like that. Yes, I was confused with the MV. I guess as the title says, maybe this song is about erasing memories. In the first scene of the MV, we'll see that there was a guy who just lost his wife, so I thought, 'Oh! so this MV is using the POV of a guy who just lost his wife'. But, eh? after I watched it until the end, it turned out that I was wrong. It turned out that they used that guy's ex POV.
I was a bit confused at first, but after I watched the MV again and again (yes I watch it more than twice lol), and also looked at the explanation in the YouTube comments section, I finally understood. It turns out that the sequence of the events shown in this MV are not in order. So it's only natural that the viewers might be confused with the storyline. I'll break down the event so that the flow is clearer. To help you guys understand the storyline easily, I've made the name of the 3 main cast below:
MUSIC VIDEO STORYLINE
The MV started by showing a hard disk connected to a laptop. There's a small polaroid in front of it. There'll be 8 events shared in this MV. Just like the 8 folders that will be deleted by the hard disk's owner later. As I said earlier, the events shown in this MV are not in order. I will show you the sequence of events based on the MV version and the minutes first.

The MV sequence is like that, right? Well, for the plot that I will break down in this review, I will adjust it according to the correct sequence of events. So I'm not going to follow the sequence that is shown in the MV. However, I'm going to sort it according to the sequence of events that should have happened. If the 8 folders are sorted, the order will be like this:

1. First-Year Orientation (รับน้องปี 1)
The sequence of events that should happen first is during the First-Year Orientation. In the MV, they didn't show their faces. Even so, we still got to see the nametags they wearing. There was a boy and a girl sitting on a bench, the boy's name is On and the girl's name is Um. It seems that Um is interested or maybe feels comfortable with On, the boy beside her. It is shown by the way Um invites On to take a selfie together.
2. With You & Pinky Promise
The 'With You' album contains photos of when On and Um were dating. This is the one that makes me confused. I think this album is a memory between On and Jan (the girl who died later). I was guessing because in the MV, when Um opens the photos in this album, you can only see On's face. We can't see the girl's face, we can only see a lil bit of her.
When On and Um were dating, they keep their love in a polaroid photo. Well, this is the photo that was previously shown at the beginning of the MV. A photo of two intertwined little fingers. Let's consider this as a promise to love each other and always be together at moments of happiness and sorrow.
3. Graduation 2014 (งานรับปริญญา 2557)
Right after 4 years On and Um studied at the same Campus, finally, they graduated together. But now, it has changed. I assume that On and Um have broken up here, but they are still on good terms because they are in the same circle.
After On broke up with Um, he is now close to his junior at Campus, her name is Jan. Jan, the one with short hair, is here taking pictures of On and Um with their circle. It was clear that Jan was an acquaintance of On's because after she took the photo, she immediately showed the results to On.
4. New Year Party (เลี้ยงปีใหม่)
There are two important things that happened at this New Year's Party. The first thing is On who proposes to Jan to marry him. One of the photos from Um's album shows that On had just proposed to Jan at that night. In the photo, we can see Jan showing off the ring that On had put on her finger. In addition, behind them, there are friends from their circle who are also happy about On's surprise proposal that went smoothly.
The second thing that happened was the scene where Um suddenly kissed On. I'm actually a little confused about the timing. If that day On just proposed to Jane, shouldn't Jane go home with On later? Well, it looks like their party is over but only On and Um are left in the house. Okay, let's just put it aside for the time being. Anyway, here, Um kissed On to make On sure of his decision to marry Jan. Honestly, Um still can't move on from On and she doesn't want On to marry Jan. In her mind, she thought that if she kissed On maybe On would change his mind. But it turns out that what happened was not what Um expected.
In fact, On had no feelings left for Um anymore. The feelings they used to feel for each other are now only felt by Um alone. The feeling isn't mutual anymore. This is shown by On who remains silent and does not return Um's kiss. Even though On didn't say a word, in her mind, Um knew the answer to her request. In the end, she must be able to let go of On, who wants to spend the rest of his life not with her but with someone else.
5. On & Jan's Wedding (งานแต่งอ้น & แจน)
Even though it was hard, in the end, there was no other choice for Um other than to give up on On. On On's wedding day with Jan, Um was also there along with the rest of their friends. But I'm sure Um still hasn't completely over from On yet. It's just a formality, even though she's still hurt. But it can't be helped, you can't force someone's feelings. If the feels had gone from the start, it won't be easy or even impossible to rebuild it.
6. Trip (ทริปรวมรุ่น)
After On and Jan's wedding, they go on a trip together. Don't forget that Um also participated in the trip. We can see that here, Jan is in a wheelchair. I'm not sure about what disease she has. What's clear is that she suffers from an illness that requires her to use a wheelchair. Here, it can be seen that even though Jane's condition is not healthy, they all seem happy to be on this trip. The smile that Um displayed also seemed sincere which indicated that she had sincerely given up on On to be with Jan. The relationship between Um and Jan also looks good.
7. Jan's Funeral Ceremony (งานศพแจน)
In the end, Jan left On for good. After Jan's funeral session was over, On could no longer hold back his tears. He cried so hard. Um, who saw On being so devastated by Jan's death, felt bad. She tried to comfort him by hugging him. Deep in the depths of her heart, Um feels so happy to be able to hug On again. Although she really shouldn't be happy about Jan's death. When he hugged On, her eyes immediately focused on the photo of Jan behind On. She recalled the memories when she took that photo. Jan smiled happily at Um's camera lens.
Recalling those memories made Um unable to hold back her tears. She felt very bad about what had just crossed her mind. She had just realized that she shouldn't be happy about Jan's death. She realized that her selfishness had led her to the thought of getting On back into her arms.
8. Present Time
After deleting all the memories folders between her, On, and Jane. Um shut down her laptop. However, it turns out that there is still one photo left. That photo is the polaroid photo that was shown at the beginning of the MV. The polaroid photo is a photo of On and Um's pinky fingers intertwined. Even though she deleted all the folders on her hard disk, she still couldn't get rid of this one photo. In the end, she realized that even though she already erased all the memories, she still couldn't forget them.
