If you follow me, you might notice that I’m a huge fan of Serious Bacon, so their recent comeback has me absolutely thrilled! This time, Serious Bacon has delivered a music video with an intriguing storyline and hidden easter eggs. Missing out on these details would indeed be regrettable, but rest assured! In this post, I’ll break down the storyline and explain each scene to help you understand it better.
Introduction
"Pinocchio" by Serious Bacon is an emotional music video that tells a heartfelt story of love, friendship, and the fears of revealing true feelings. The MV follows two friends, Imp and Cake, as they navigate their complicated emotions and relationships.
From what I’ve seen, Boxx Music doesn’t usually provide English subtitles (Boxx Music please hear me out, WE NEED ENGSUB OI). First of all, let's meet the cast of this MV! Just like in other Serious Bacon songs, Cake and Muang (Serious Bacon) are starring again but with Imp joining them this time. Fun fact: they’re using their real names here. Another fun fact: Muang is older than Cake here, which made me laugh when I noticed Cake calling Muang 'Phi' in the MV😂 Now, let’s explore the scenes and uncover the hidden meanings behind this beautifully crafted MV.
Opening Scene: Confession and Agreement

The music video begins with Imp confessing her feelings to Muang. Imp likes Muang and has decided to confess her feelings. Before this, Imp and her friend, Cake, had an agreement. They would each confess their feelings to their crushes, and if rejected, they would support one another by hanging out together.

In the next scene, we see Imp and Cake walking together, which indicates that both were rejected by their crushes. During their walk, Imp asks Cake if she can finally reveal who she likes. Cake responds with "Phi Muang," causing an awkward silence. Imp feels uneasy because she had confessed to Muang earlier, and now she discovers that her best friend likes the same person.

However, Cake quickly makes a crossed finger gesture, which means she was just joking. She doesn't really like Muang. This playful moment brings laughter and eases the tension between them. Cake's joke helps maintain their friendship despite the initial misunderstanding.

The video playfully suggests they’re doing more than just a peck, possibly french kissing, tho (I'M SORRY) (BUT ya know what I mean right 🤭).

As the story progresses, we reach a crucial scene on a train. Imp confesses to Cake that she had been lying all along. In the opening scene, when she confessed to Muang, her feelings were actually accepted. Despite her successful confession, Imp chose to keep Cake company, pretending she was also rejected.

Then, Cake also admits she was lying earlier. She reveals that she likes Imp, not Muang. When Cake reveals her feelings, the train enters a tunnel and everything goes dark, which symbolizes the hidden depth of Cake's feelings. The cinematography is just *chef's kiss* And the lyrics, "The love I feel for you must be hidden," align perfectly with this scene, emphasizing Cake's hidden love for Imp.

The camera focuses on their hands, and here is the crucial detail: Imp's fingers are crossed. This subtle gesture indicates that Imp has been lying to herself. In truth, Cake's love isn't unrequited, Imp has feelings for her too. However, because Cake is a girl, Imp feels she cannot fully express her feelings. She chooses Muang, a boy, even though deep down, her heart belongs to Cake.
Conclusion
In the end, both Imp and Cake like each other but are too afraid to say it out loud, fearing it might ruin their friendship. The lyrics, "I lie all the time, but you still believe in me. If I tell the truth, I'm afraid of losing you," perfectly capture the essence of their relationship. The MV leaves us with a bittersweet feeling, as we understand the depth of their unspoken love and the complexities of their emotions.
